Leave 'Em Laughing Tent at forty
The Perry Winkle
The Perry Winkle issue 85 is now available. It won’t surprise you that once again we are most impressed. Not only is it a terrific read and super value, but Roger Robinson has this to say:
If anyone would like to subscribe to become a Stowaway Sap commencing from the new issue (PW85), they will receive a FREE copy of the current issue (PW84). I am just an e-mail away.

Chumps in Ulverston
Sixteen of us made the trip to Ulverston on Saturday 14th and had a swell time. You can read Peter Jones’ splendid record of our day 'way out west' with a gallery of almost 50 photos of our day which is at https://beauchumps.wordpress.com/2019/09/16/a-chump-at-ulverston/.
On the telly
Radio Times (14-20.09.19.)
I was watching an old movie, Nice Girl (1941), starring Deanna Durbin and Franchot Tone. James Finlayson had a small part. He is not credited in any of the three film books that I have and not credited on the DVD sleeve. It was good to see him and hear his Scottish accent.
Grand Sheik Peter Andrews tells us that the version of Unaccustomed As We Are which the tent will be screening is the SILENT version, made for cinemas which did not yet have sound equipment installed.
Grand Sheik Paul Harding says, "We have a different venue for our October meeting - the Manifest decided their next production would run with its last day being the date we'd previously booked (!) - so we have kept the date (5th October) and booked the Oakroom Hall in Acorn Village about half a mile from the Manifest."

Alan Kent found this on the Panopticon in Glasgow.
