Dave Wyatt
Despite it being a bitterly cold day with snow and ice and transport disruption, there was a large attendance for Dave Wyatt’s funeral. As well as the ‘Sons of the Desert’, there were members from the ‘Blinking Buzzards’ (Buster Keaton Society) and several other films groups and clubs, as well as ex colleagues from the BBC and ITV.
It has been 8 weeks since Dave died, but we will all retain happy memories of him. Opposite is the cover of a Celebration Service of his life.

Absent friends
A couple of years ago, I posted a list of departed Sons (and Sonesses) on FB and on a Beau Chumps Bulletin. We’ve lost so many splendid and much loved people this year, I’d like to do this again so we can all remember them together. The list might also inform, as I’m sure we aren’t individually aware of every Son that has passed in 2022.
If you would like a mention for a fellow tent member (or any Son you know we’ve lost, wherever they were in the world) please drop me an email (beauchumpssunderland@gmail.com) with their name, tent and location and I’ll sort something for New Year’s Eve.

Christmas blog
We always get a good reaction to our Laurel, Hardy and Christmas blog, and I've heavily revised it for this year. The article looks at pictures set at Christmas, movies released and filmed in December, Christmas images, Sons Christmas memories and much more. I do hope you get the time to visit the page and enjoy it!

Stan & Ollie
The film Stan & Ollie will be shown on BBC 4 between 10.40pm and 12.15am. A great way to see in the New Year!
