Ron Stokoe RIP
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that my good friend, our good friend, Ron Stokoe died this morning (7th July).
He was 93 in May. He had been unwell for the last 18 months, having been diagnosed with cancer, but remained positive. He has been in hospital for the last couple of weeks and I have visited him every other day. I last saw him on Friday afternoon. He was very weak and tired but we still shared a joke together about some black grapes that he had, saying that they could have been made into red wine. In my heart I did think that it would be the last time I saw him.
He was always great company and loved the camaraderie of the Sons of the Desert.
I have passed on the condolences on behalf of the Sons.
