2027 European Convention

Dates have been fixed for the 2027 European Convention: 16th till 19th July. Some details are available here and we expect more information to be forthcoming at the UK Convention in a couple of weeks' time.

Bonnie Scotland Tent at 50

At the UK Convention, raise a glass to the Bonnie Scotland Tent on 3rd May, as on that day the tent will become fifty years old. The tent’s first meeting was in Glasgow on 3rd May 1976.

Nowadays the oasis meets monthly in the Tartan Rose pub in Paisley, with Grand Sheik Janice Hawton in charge.

Artificial Intelligence

Does the proliferation of AI images of Laurel and Hardy bother you? There is concern that some photos may be mistaken as genuine images of Laurel and Hardy, when, of course, they are not.

Films sold

We managed to sell our large collection of 16mm Laurel & Hardy films, to a guy from Cleethorpes. And, would you believe it, he used to be the GS of the Any Old Port Tent in Hull. His name is Phil Sheard.

Back at the Panopticon

Laurel and Hardy once again brought a full house to the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall in Glasgow on April 1st!

The Panopticon have cancelled the planned June screening, in favour of another event. So we have arranged an afternoon show on Saturday 16th May. Gladstone’s Bag will provide a live musical accompaniment to The Lucky Dog.
