North East Comedy Hall of Fame

I had an amazing evening last night (September 10th) when I was immensely proud to induct Stan into the North East Comedy Hall of Fame. I was also given six minutes to talk about Stan and his North East connections - which was nowhere near long enough. You know what I’m like!
Being able to present the award to Stan’s great great niece, Claire Garrod, was a real thrill too. Claire’s mum, Lyn Nicholson was due to accept the award, but was unwell on the day, so get well soon, Lyn.
I was also chuffed to meet Tim Healy (Auf Wiedersehen, Pet) who, as you can see from the badge, is a member of the Grand Order of Water Rats.
It really was a splendid evening and I hope from conversations in the intermission and at the end that we might have picked up a few new members.
