Dave Walker RIP

I regret to inform you that David Walker died on 3rd January after a short illness. He was 88 years old.

His funeral will be held at Seafield Crematorium in Thursday 22nd January at 3pm.

David was a lifetime and founding member of the Blockheads Tent. For many years Dave would bring his trusty projector and Super 8 films to the tent meetings until mobility issues restricted him. He’ll certainly be missed but we have fond memories of his time with us.

Oh dear, that is sad news.

I too have fond memories of Dave and always enjoyed his company, both at conventions and at tent meetings. I know that the Blockheads owe him so much as he was a linchpin for many years. He loved Laurel and Hardy and he loved film collecting and he happily combined these two passions in the Sons of the Desert. RIP Dave.

What a sad start to the year. I was sorry to hear about Dave.

As well as being such a stalwart Blockhead, Dave could also be found at Bonnie Scotland Tent meetings - along with his projector as we saved up raffle money to buy our own Super 8. Dave is also the fella who introduced so many of us to The Soilers. A once seen, never forgotten film. He certainly knew his stuff.

He was a true gentleman and I will always have very happy memories of him.
