Charity night
We were honored to have been part of The Rick Buckler: Music, Memories & The Jam memorial and charity concert which took place on Monday 12th October, at the Woking Theatre, Woking. It was an amazing night celebrating Rick Buckler and raising money for Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care. Rick Buckler loved Laurel and Hardy

Grand Order of Water Rats
On 25th October I was at the GOWR Ball. It is an elaborate affair, with fine-dining and excellent entertainment. One thing that we never know until we are seated in the Ball Room at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, is who may attend. I spotted Michael Crawford, Anita Harris, Jim Davidson, Vicky Michelle, Pat Jennings, and Angela Rippon. There is always a brochure with news and articles (I always write something) but it was the inside cover that caught my eye. The Water Rats are always mentioning Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy as very special members. I loved the five silhouettes looking out from the stage. They are Tommy Cooper, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and Little Tich.

Bonnie Scotland Tent at Christmas
Our December meeting will be on 10th December, with our Christmas meal being Saturday 9 January. There will be a buffet in the Tartan Rose with the usual nonsense of a raffle, quiz and general good fun. All welcome.

Flog It
There was a gentleman on Flog It (Friday 23rd October, BBC2) who was presented with a book by Laurel and Hardy as a prize in a drawing competition at the Empire in York in 1953. The presenter said it was worth about £200.
