L&H cinema bar
A 23-year-old, Clyde Murray, has built a bar and cinema on the waterfront in Gourock. It was featured in a lengthy article in The Herald (5.2.26). His love of Laurel and Hardy is evident!

Father Ted
I've been re-watching the Farther Ted series. Whilst looking up some details about the show, I came across this on Wikipedia:
When producer Geoffrey Perkins asked Linehan and Mathews to discard the mockumentary format and expand the Father Ted episode to a traditional sitcom, Father Dougal became one of the main characters. When writing Dougal, Linehan and Mathews drew on Stan Laurel, incorporating some of Linehan's own behaviour during moments of confusion.
Another link was the actor Jim Norton, who played Bishop Len Brennan, Ted's main protagonist. He also appeared as Stan Laurel in the BBC 2006 drama Stan a virtual one-man performance, in which his sensitivity was excellent as Stan, visiting Babe ill in bed, following his stroke. This drama was written by Neil Brand, and this was long before the excellent Steve Coogan performance.
Apparently Ted fans have held annual conventions since 2007
Just take a look at the 'gallery' section on their website ... Now I wonder where they got the idea from…
